COMPARE: Leighton Vander Esch (2017) vs. Malik Jefferson (2017)
This video from DEVO Highlights features Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch. The 6-foot-4, 240 pound Vander Esch is a player that looks the part of an NFL MLB. After an injury took out his 2016 season, Vander Esch roared back in 2017 with a monstrous 141 tackles in the middle of the Boise State defense. Declaring early has left Vander Esch with a short body of work to grade, but scouts love his athletic potential and his ability to run and cover players over the middle to go along with his obvious tackling prowess.
