We can debate BR-14 Iowa‘s inclusion among the top teams in the nation but it doesn’t matter. If the Hawkeyes defeat BR-9 Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday, they will secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. Plain and simple.
Their regular season wasn’t always pretty and they struggled mightily against average and poor teams. However, wins against BR-40 Northwestern and BR-31 Wisconsin have adequately built up their résumé enough to warrant inclusion in the playoff discussion.
In reaching 12-0 for the first time in school history, they have faced loads of critics, including Fox Sports personality Colin Cowherd.
