By now you probably know all about the Miami Hurricane's turnover chain that's adorned by a defensive player the second he hits the sideline after a turnover recovery or interception. But have you heard yet about the Kennesaw State Turnover Plank, which in this author's humble opinion is far superior to the sideline prop sported by players on The U?

Apparently the piece of wood was discovered in Florida on spring break a few years back by wide receiver Tanner Jones. He began bringing it to the locker room and somehow it made its way onto the sideline during a November 4 road contest at Montana State.

The Turnover Plank's magical powers have propelled KSU to a blistering 9-1 start despite the fact the football program played its first contest ever just three years ago.
A win today over Monmouth would give the Owls the Big South title, but even if they should lose an at-large bid could be coming, which would give the college football world a chance to see these reasons why the Kennesaw State Turnover Plank is far superior to the Miami Hurricanes' Turnover Chain.

1. Kennesaw State Turnover Plank is More Original
The Miami Turnover Chain feels too planned out. It's too in-your-face, showy, and gaudy.
The Kennesaw State Turnover Plank is for everyone from diehard Owls' fans to the everyman. It's also much more original in that it happened organically — from its discovery by a practice squad player to its first (and very random) appearance on the sideline.

2. It's Humble
Just look at how happy it is to be a part of the team.
You can't teach that kind of modesty.

3. KSU Fans Can Make Their Own
The Miami Turnover Chain looks like it would take trips to multiple craft stores to attain the proper supplies needed for fans to create their own.

I mean, is that real gold? Who has that kind of money?
Now the plank is something that every KSU fan, regardless of socioeconomic status, can afford to create in her or his spare time. It's an inclusive "mascot" that fans aged 2 to 102 can craft to show their support for the Owls.

Turnover Plank is also so versatile that fans can create their own version without even having a piece of wood.

Here's praying Kennesaw State clinches an FCS playoff bid so the Turnover Plank can get the national kudos it so truly deserves.
