Kevin Hester Jr. Goes to High School Football Practice for 8 Days, Gets 2 Scholarship Offers

Many high school football players earn college scholarships after eight years of work. It took Kevin Hester Jr. eight days.

At 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, Hester (of North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, Ga.) looks like a college football recruit. But until last week, he had never actually played football. When he did play, it didn't take long for colleges to take notice.

Hester received an offer from SMU on May 12 and Boston College on May 16. North Cobb football coach Jesse Lynch tweeted a photo of the enormous Hester.

Update: Hester committed to North Carolina on Sunday, Dec. 16.
