Lane Kiffin Does it Again, Offers Scholarship to 7th-Grader Pierce Clarkson

Once a year Dwight holds a seminar updating Dunder Mifflin Scranton on the newest developments in the world of karate — because as we all know, the one thing thousand-year-old martial arts do all the time is change. But with all due to respect to Dwight, the most worthy opponent of him is him.

Lane Kiffin appears to be a really big fan of that episode of The Office, and is a firm believer in beating himself. Maybe that's why three weeks after making a scholarship offer to quarterback Kaden Martin, the 13-year-old son of USC offensive Tee Martin who was wrapping up seventh grade, Kiffin found someone younger to offer a scholarship to.

According to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports, the first-year Florida Atlantic coach made an offer to quarterback Pierce Clarkson, who just finished sixth grade. Clarkson is the son of revered quarterback whisperer Steve Clarkson.

Ironically, Clarkson is the former coach of the first seventh-grader Kiffin ever offered. In 2010, he offered seventh-grade prospect David Sills, who did commit and remained committed for more than four years before signing with West Virginia.

As noted when Kiffin offered Martin, he has never remained with a team for more than three full years, making it amusingly unrealistic to expect him to still be at Florida Atlantic when Martin or Clarkson sign letters of intent in 2022 or 2023, respectively.

Neither Martin nor Clarkson have accepted the offer.
