When it comes to interviewing head football coaches, for every "I want winners" classic there are a thousand "We're on to Cincinnati" snoozefests. Thankfully there's Lane Kiffin at Florida Atlantic to give us sarcasm, humor, refreshing honesty, and the inside scoop on why Nick Saban won't announce his starting quarterback for the 2018 season.
Speaking today on the fabulous Dan Patrick Show, Kiffin was in rare form as he discussed everything from how his Owls have no chance of beating Oklahoma in Norman this weekend to why Saint Nick is holding his QB decision as secret as an FBI file.

"Because he doesn't want one to transfer," the FAU head coach told Dan Patrick when asked why Saban refuses to publicly announce Alabama's starting signal caller against Louisville this Saturday night. "I could've told you the day after the National Championship that he wasn't going to announce a starter."
Kiffin continued, "They're both going to play in the first game so nobody transfers."
Things got quite comical when Patrick asked the head coach about his team's odds this Saturday as 20.5-point underdogs against the Sooners.
"Yeah, cause the chances of us beating Oklahoma are really good," Kiffin said sarcastically. "Have you ever seen their players? And have you seen ours? Wait until you watch the game in the first quarter before we're getting blown out."
Now before you plunk down your cash on OU to cover the -20.5, keep in mind that FAU was an impressive 9-4 against the spread last season, including covering easily at Wisconsin in September as a 33.5-point dog.
Do yourself a massive favor and watch the interview in its entirety. You won't be disappointed one bit.
And if you aren't following Kiffin on Twitter, you're missing out on some of the best social media humor this side of Blake Bortles Facts.
