LSU is honoring their rich football history with throwback uniforms in Week 3.
The Tigers, 1-1 after losing to Wisconsin in Week 1 and defeating Jacksonville State in Week 2, are set to host Mississippi State on Saturday, Sept. 17, in their SEC opener. And they'll do so with 'Gridiron Gold' throwback uniforms.
The jerseys honor teams from 1940s that donned gold jerseys, while the white helmet design comes from 1957-71 and the 'L' logo on the pants traces back over a century to the beginnings of LSU football in the early 1900s.
