No. 55 Shaq Quarterman
Miami (FL) – LB
Shaq Quarterman has been a fixture in Miami's front seven since he stepped foot on campus in 2016 but that doesn't mean the Hurricanes' coaching staff isn't constantly impressed with the junior linebacker's ability.
“If you just watched Shaq and [Michael] Pinckney in the scrimmage, they see the target, they know what to do, and they get there so fast with a nasty attitude that it is unbelievable,” Richt said in April. “They just love football. They played that spring game like it was for the national championship. It was unbelievable.”
Quarterman, the 6-foot-1, 235-pound native of Orange Park, Fla., has started every game of his career, earning All-ACC Third-Team honors and Freshman All-America honors after recording 84 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks two years ago. He enters this season with 26 consecutive starts and is the best No. 55 in college football.
