The 2018 NFL Scouting Combine is set for Tuesday, February 27 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the NFL has released the names of the 336 players who earned an invite to the event. One of those 336 names is that of Division 3 cornerback Michael Joseph out of Dubuque, the sole Division 3 player to earn an invite to the event.

Last year, 7 Division 3 players made initial 53-man rosters, with one rookie in the mix — former Greenville linebacker Nicholas Morrow. Joseph will look to one-up him by earning a spot on an NFL team through the draft.
If he's drafted, he'd be the first D3 prospect picked in the draft since Ali Marpet was selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Joseph has put himself in exactly that position after a strong week at the Senior Bowl. A good showing at the NFL Combine could solidify him as a draft pick in 2018.

Currently, Joseph is a projected 5th round pick by NFL Draft Scout, with his name near the likes of Levi Wallace of Alabama (NFL Draft Scout No. 20 CB), Virginia Tech's Brandon Facyson (NFL Draft Scout's No. 23 CB) and Texas' Holton Hill (NFL Draft Scout's No. 25 CB).
With a good performance at the combine, Joseph could easily work his way into the discussion as a fourth-round pick or earlier.
