Jim Harbaugh to Michigan. It’s a crazy story, one that few would have predicted this time last year, so of course everyone has to weigh in. Some reactions have been funny, some serious, but Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio had the best reaction of all.
At his end of season teleconference Monday, someone asked the Spartan leader, “Are there ways that Michigan’s hire of Jim Harbaugh increases the challenge for you, and is it that exciting for you?”
Dantonio was ready for the question about Michigan’s new head coaching hire, and responded, “That’s occurred a number of times since I’ve been here,”
OOHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Dantonio went on to say, “so yeah, it’s going to be a challenge every time there’s somebody new, every time there’s somebody new in the Big Ten.”
Dantonio added one final back-handed compliment to his (former) rivals, “Nobody hires bad coaches. There are no bad coaches out there. Very, very good coaches coach in this conference, including coach (Brady) Hoke and coach (Rich) Rodriguez, so it’s a challenge.”
Cold blooded coach, cold blooded.
