In March 2018, the college football world got a rare glimpse into a head-coaching search when text messages between then-Tennessee athletics director John Currie and Washington State head coach Mike Leach were made public.
Currie, after the infamous WiFi plane debacle, met Leach in Los Angeles on Nov. 30, 2017, and discussed the Vols' head-coaching vacancy. And while there was speculation Currie was targeting Leach, amongst others, including NC State head coach Dave Doeren, at the time, the details weren't revealed until March when Curries's communications were made public.
This week on the High Motor podcast, Leach talked about that situation, listening to other offers and why he doesn't expect private conversations to remain private.
