Minnesota has some of the better specialists in nation. That doesn't mean they're exempt from conditioning.
Kicker Emmit Carpenter won Big Ten Kicker of the Year after hitting 92 percent (22 of 24) of his field goal attempts — including 10-for-10 from 40 yards or beyond — as a sophomore. Punter Ryan Santoso had a 41-yard average and placed nearly 40 percent of his punts inside the 20-yard line.

Their new coaching staff might appreciate the leg talent, but that doesn't mean assistant strength coach Marcus Wasilewski is giving them a free pass. Wasilewski supposedly forced the specialists to run on Tuesday, much to their displeasure.
The only appropriate response was to prank Wasilewski at dinner:
