Alabama was ranked sixth in the inaugural College Football Playoff Rankings in Week 9 of the 2014 season. The Crimson Tide moved up to No. 5 in Week 10 and have never been ranked lower than fifth in the 29 rankings since then. Alabama is one of only three teams to appear in all 31 playoff rankings.
In five years of the playoff rankings, only Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State have appeared in every ranking. Oklahoma (29) ranks second, followed by LSU (27) and Utah (24). And more than half of all active FBS teams (67) have appeared at least once. Arkansas, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Marshall, South Carolina, and Virginia, are the only one-time teams. The other 61 teams have appeared in multiple rankings.
Alabama is one of 13 SEC teams who've been ranked, tied with the ACC for the most (and highest percentage) among all conferences. Vanderbilt and Wake Forest are the only teams from their respective conferences who've never cracked the top 25.
