For the majority of the first eight weeks of the 2017 season, the NFL MVP rankings conversation has gone from Kareem Hunt and Alex Smith to Aaron Rodgers to Tom Brady and Carson Wentz.
And now Russell Wilson.
Wilson torched the Houston Texans Sunday, going 26-41 for 452 yards and 4 TD in a 41-38 shootout win for the Seattle Seahawks, and has been lights out after a slow start to the season.
Since Week 3, Wilson is highest graded QB at Pro Football Focus and ranks No. 3 overall for the season.
The past two weeks, Wilson has lit up the Giants and Texans and is PFF's No. 1 QB in grade, yards-in-air percentage, YPA, yards passing, TD, old-fashioned passer rating and all that despite SEVEN drops, the worst drop rate in the NFL.
Wilson has 2,008 yards (5), 15 TD (4) and 4 INT and the Seahawks are 5-2 despite no running game and an inconsistent defense. Wilson also has 194 yards rushing and a QBR over 85 three of his last four games, all among the top 25 games of the year in the stat.
