No. 65 Garrett Bradbury
North Carolina State – C
Garrett Bradbury played tight end and defensive end for two-time state champion Charlotte Christian High School, had only three FBS offers as the 1,749th-ranked recruit in the 2014 class, and redshirted as a tight end at North Carolina State later that year. He was a defensive tackle for 2015 spring and summer workouts before moving to guard early in fall camp.
So, of course, he's now one of the best centers in college football and the best No. 65 in the country.
"He's a physical guy," Doeren said in August 2015. "He's really strong. We brought him here to play tight end so he already knows a lot of the communication and blocking schemes. I just think Garrett can be a three-year starter over there if he learns it this year. He has the potential to play right away. He's a really, really tough kid."
Doeren nailed it. After spending most of the 2015 season nursing injuries and playing on special teams, Bradbury started every game the last two years and was part of an NC State offensive line that allowed only 13 sacks in 2017.
