The outlook for Hawai'i women's volleyball team looks positive with a significant number of returning players and a talented group of newcomers, Hawai'i is ready for the Chevron Rainbow Wahine Invitational Aug. 26-28. Prior to the tourney, HERO Sports spoke to head coach Dave Shoji about the 2016 season.
HERO: Which players will log significant minutes for your team this year?
Shoji: Emily Maglio (Jr., MH), Savanah Kahakai (Jr., Libero), Kalei Greeley (Jr., OH)
HERO: What will be the biggest difference between this year's team and last year's team?
Shoji: Replacing last year's seniors, Tai Manu-Olevao and Olivia Magill
HERO: Which players do you expect to lead the team this season?
Shoji: All of our players are leaders in their own way.
HERO: Is there one game you have circled on your calendar as your "Game of the Year"?
Shoji:: Wisconsin (first game of the season)
HERO: Is there anything else you want fans to know about your team?
Shoji: They've been working hard in the off-season to have a great year
