This was supposed to be a tough game for USC against a strong and physical Stanford squad in each team's Pac-12 opener. Instead, the SoCal team controlled the line of scrimmage and beat Stanford to the punch with a surprising display of physicality in Week 2.
In truth, the result was a little flattering to the Cardinal. The Trojans out gained Stanford 623 yards to 342 and USC rushed for 307 yards. The power schools in the SEC and ACC might not want to look west right now as the Pac-12 has a powerhouse that will cause anyone damage should the Trojans make it to the College Football Playoff.
