Nebraska was ranked in this year's preseason AP top 25 for the first time in five years and widely picked to contend for the Big Ten West title, if not the Big Ten title. While it's still early and the Huskers are only one game into conference play, it appears the regular-season results will fall well short of the preseason hype.
At 3-2 entering Week 6, Nebraska is already one win shy of their win totals from both 2017 and 2019, but following the Ohio State demolition in Week 5 (and a loss to Colorado and unimpressive wins over South Alabama and Illinois), it appears the Huskers are a long ways from Big Ten title contention.
