The Las Vegas Aces have signed Emma Cannon for the rest of the season General Manager Dan Padover announced on Wednesday.
The six-foot-two forward began her WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury after being signed as an undrafted free agent appearing in all 34 games that season. She averaged 4.4 points, 3.6 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game. She led all WNBA rookies that season with a 49.1 shooting percentage.
Cannon signed with the Mercury prior to the 2018 season, but was waived before the start of the regular season. In 2019, the Connecticut signed her to a training camp contract but was once again waived.
Cannon graduated from Florida Southern where she was a Division II Honorable Mention All-American.
The Rochester, New York native has played overseas with top Hungarian club NKE-Csata for the 2019-2020 season averaging 16 points, 8.7 rebounds and shooting 50.7 percent from the field. Prior to that, she played in Poland and Russia.
The Las Vegas Aces will close out their regular season slate this week when they face the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday, September 8, the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday and Seattle Storm on Sunday. The second-place Aces currently sit at 15-4 on the season and No. 2 in league standings.
WNBA Playoffs will begin on September 15.
