While the importance an effort on the field at the NFL Pro Bowl has come into question over the past decade, it's still quite the honor to be chosen as one of the year's elite players — not to mention the bonus money some fellas bring home as a result of their selection. Now that the full roster is out, it's interesting to see the average age of NFL Pro Bowlers by position.

The first and most glaring data point is the average age difference between quarterbacks and the gentlemen they hand off to. While it should come as no surprise that running backs tend to be younger than their teammate lining up behind center, there's a substantial decade difference in age between the two for those making the all-star gala.
Then again, running backs average a shelf life of only 2.7 years in the league, so it would make sense that even Pro Bowl selections are on the younger side.
The second youngest group of Pro Bowlers in 2019? That would be the secondaries for both the NFC and AFC.
