Three weeks before the 2016-17 season started, Indiana big man Thomas Bryant was seen in a walking boot, which led Hoosier fans to worry that the sophomore was battling an unreported injury. He quickly dispelled any rumors, saying on Twitter, "I'm fine everyone just a sprained ankle will be back getting after it with the team very very soon no worries at all."
He may need send out another tweet after Sunday's loss at Northwestern. During the 68-55 defeat, Bryant was one of Indiana's few bright spots, recording 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocked shots. However, it was one of his very few underwhelming plays that made most highlight reels.

In a rare moment of vulnerability for Bryant, Northwestern guard Sanjay Lumpkin used a spectacular spin move to demolish his ankles:
