Notre Dame and the ACC announced some future games today — some FAR future games. A few of these games are so distant that some of the athletes who will theoretically compete in them have not yet been born.
The Irish and the conference agreed to a 12-year partnership in 2013 that would include five games against ACC teams each year between 2014-2025. On Thursday, they officially extended that deal, adding an additional 12 more years.
“The ACC’s football partnership with Notre Dame has been extremely successful throughout our first four seasons,” said ACC commissioner John Swofford in a release. “As we look to the future, these games will continue to enhance the experience for our players, schools and fans.”
And that future includes games that won't occur for more than 20 years, with the conference delivering Notre Dame football schedules through the 2037 season.
