This video is worth watching if for no other reason than to see what it's like to play football on the edge of a hurricane. Hurricane Matthew caused a number of college football games this weekend to be rearranged, canceled, or postponed, but those contests were directly in the path of the storm. Those games on the fringes of the hurricane's path went ahead as scheduled, including this contest: NC State vs Notre Dame.
To say that conditions were brutal would still be a massive understatement as the game took place in a downpour with a howling wind, which caused problems for both offenses. Check out this video above and see for yourself what the crazy field conditions were like by the end of the afternoon.
The two teams went into the fourth quarter tied at 3 after both hit a field goal. The fact that either team was able to kick a field goal is a miracle, but unsurprisingly, the game-winning touchdown was on a blocked kick. NC State vs. Notre Dame ended in a 10-3 win for the Wolfpack.
