The folks at BetOnline really like Les Miles' chances of returning to the SEC West.
Miles, fired by LSU last September during his twelfth season as head coach, is tied for the second-highest odds of being the permanent replacement to Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss. As of Monday, July 24, the 63-year-old Miles had +500 odds from BetOnline, as does current interim Rebels' coach Matt Luke and former Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley, who's entering his fifth season as Dallas Cowboys' receivers coach.
Those three are behind SMU head coach Chad Morris (+400) — who yours truly included on a prospective candidate list last week. Morris, 48, was a Texas high school coach eight years ago and is just 7-17 in two seasons with the Mustangs. He is, however, a former Clemson offensive coordinator and one of the most respected minds in college football.
