How Long Will Big 12 Teams Remain Undefeated? Over/Under Games for Each Team

How Long Will Big 12 Teams Remain Undefeated? Over/Under Games for Each Team

During the 2016 college football season, three Big 12 teams dropped their season opener. Four more teams fell from the ranks of unbeatens after two games and one more lost their third game, leaving just two Big 12 teams undefeated through three games. Those two — Baylor and West Virginia — started 6-0 before losing their seventh game.

How long will each Big 12 remain undefeated in 2017?

While Oklahoma is a strong playoff contender and Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Texas are all expected to sniff 10 wins, compete for the conference title and maybe enter playoff consideration, can any of the four remain undefeated into October?

Here are the over/under games for each Big 12 team to keep their unblemished record.

Baylor

Over/Under: 3.5 Games

Baylor's first real test comes in Week 3 with a trip to Duke, a game they'll likely be slight favorites in. Their over/under is dependent on that trip to Durham followed by a home date with Oklahoma.

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. Liberty
2 Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. UTSA
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 at Duke
4 Saturday, Sept. 23 vs. Oklahoma
5 Saturday, Sept. 30 at Kansas State
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 at Oklahoma State
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 vs. West Virginia
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 vs. Texas
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 at Kansas
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. Texas Tech
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 vs. Iowa State
12 Friday, Nov. 24 at TCU

Iowa State

Over/Under: 1.5 Games

Iowa State lost to Northern Iowa at home in the 2016 opener, therefore beating the Panthers this year given — even if the Cyclones will be  much improved.

Their 1.5 mark is dependent on a home game vs. Iowa in Week 2. They were demolished by the Hawkeyes last September, 42-3.

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. Northern Iowa
2 Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. Iowa
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 at Akron
4 Thursday, Sept. 28 vs. Texas
5 Saturday, Oct. 7 at Oklahoma
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 vs. Kansas
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 at Texas Tech
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 vs. TCU
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 at West Virginia
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. Oklahoma State
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 at Baylor
12 Saturday, Nov. 25 at Kansas State

Kansas

Over/Under: 1.5 Games

Kansas should have little issue with Southeast Missouri State in the opener. After falling to Ohio in Week 2 last year, they get another MAC shot with Central Michigan.

Kansas hasn't started 2-0 since 2011.

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. Southeast Missouri State
2 Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. Central Michigan
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 at Ohio
4 Saturday, Sept. 23 vs. West Virginia
5 Saturday, Oct. 7 vs. Texas Tech
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 at Iowa State
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 at TCU
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 vs. Kansas State
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 vs. Baylor
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 at Texas
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 vs. Oklahoma
12 Saturday, Nov. 25 at Oklahoma State

Kansas State

Over/Under: 4.5 Games

After hosting Central Arkansas and Charlotte, Kansas State visits Vanderbilt in Week 3, followed by a home date with Baylor in Week 4. Though neither are guaranteed wins, they'll be favored in both and it's the smart bet to guess a 4-0 start for the Wildcats.

Week 5 brings a trip to rejuvenated Texas and a shot at establishing themselves as a legitimate Big 12 contender with a 2-0 league start.

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. Central Arkansas
2 Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. Charlotte
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 at Vanderbilt
4 Saturday, Sept. 30 vs. Baylor
5 Saturday, Oct. 7 at Texas
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 vs. TCU
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 vs. Oklahoma
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 at Kansas
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 at Texas Tech
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. West Virginia
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 at Oklahoma State
12 Saturday, Nov. 25 vs. Iowa State

Oklahoma

Over/Under: 1.5 Games

Oklahoma joins Iowa State and Kansas in the 1.5 club but for one very different reason: The Sooners visit Ohio State in Week 2 in rematch of the Buckeyes' win in Norman last year.

An early deficit, two turnovers and an inability to stop running back Mike Weber were too much for Oklahoma. Can they get revenge in 2017?

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. UTEP
2 Saturday, Sept. 9 at Ohio State
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 vs. Tulane
4 Saturday, Sept. 23 at Baylor
5 Saturday, Oct. 7 vs. Iowa State
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 vs. Texas
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 at Kansas State
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 vs. Texas Tech
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 at Oklahoma State
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. TCU
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 at Kansas
12 Saturday, Nov. 25 vs. West Virginia

Oklahoma State

Over/Under: 6.5 Games

Although Oklahoma State's non-conference slate is a tricky one that features two road games — a rarity for Power Five teams — the Cowboys are expected to hit 3-0 with a Week 3 win at Pittsburgh.

It's tempting to cap their over/under at 3.5 with a home date against TCU on Sept. 23 but let's have some fun and roll it out to 6.5.

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Thursday, Aug. 31 vs. Tulsa
2 Friday, Sept. 8 at South Alabama
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 at Pittsburgh
4 Saturday, Sept. 23 vs. TCU
5 Saturday, Sept. 30 at Texas Tech
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 vs. Baylor
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 at Texas
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 at West Virginia
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 vs. Oklahoma
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 at Iowa State
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 vs. Kansas State
12 Saturday, Nov. 25 vs. Kansas

TCU

Over/Under: 3.5 Games

TCU's Week 2 visit to Arkansas is a toss-up and their Week 3 game against a drastically improved SMU team will be dangerous. Nonetheless, the right move is putting Horned Frogs at 3.5, which will likely draw a flurry of bets on the under with a visit Oklahoma State in Week 4

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. Jackson State
2 Saturday, Sept. 9 at Arkansas
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 vs. SMU
4 Saturday, Sept. 23 at Oklahoma State
5 Saturday, Oct. 7 vs. West Virginia
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 at Kansas State
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 vs. Kansas
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 at Iowa State
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 vs. Texas
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 at Oklahoma
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 at Texas Tech
12 Friday, Nov. 24 vs. Baylor

Texas

Over/Under: 2.5 Games

Maryland and San Jose State won't be accurate barometers of what has changed in eight months under Tom Herman, though the Longhorns will still win both and enter Week 3 at 2-0.

Then comes USC at the Coliseum, where the Trojans will be sizable favorites.

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. Maryland
2 Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. San Jose State
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 at USC
4 Thursday, Sept. 28 at Iowa State
5 Saturday, Oct. 7 vs. Kansas State
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 vs. Oklahoma
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 vs. Oklahoma State
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 at Baylor
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 at TCU
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. Kansas
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 at West Virginia
12 Friday, Nov. 24 vs. Texas Tech

Texas Tech

Over/Under: 2.5 Games

Predicting easy wins over good FCS foes is downright stupid, and that goes for Texas Tech's home opener vs. Eastern Washington.

The Red Raiders should win that one and their Week 3 game against Arizona State. Can Kliff Kingsbury grab a victory at Houston in Week 4?

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Saturday, Sept. 2 vs. Eastern Washington
2 Saturday, Sept. 16 vs. Arizona State
3 Saturday, Sept. 23 at Houston
4 Saturday, Sept. 30 vs. Oklahoma State
5 Saturday, Oct. 7 at Kansas
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 at West Virginia
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 vs. Iowa State
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 at Oklahoma
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 vs. Kansas State
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 vs. Baylor
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 vs. TCU
12 Friday, Nov. 24 at Texas

West Virginia

Over/Under: 4.5 Games

Tied with Kansas State for the highest over/under, West Virginia might also have the best chances to lose in Week 1.

If the Mountaineers can beat Virginia Tech at FedEx Field in the opener — and that's a huge "if" — it's likely they'll enter their Oct. 7 road game against TCU with a 4-0 mark.

Game No. Date Opponent
1 Sunday, Sept. 3 vs. Virginia Tech
2 Saturday, Sept. 9 vs. East Carolina
3 Saturday, Sept. 16 vs. Delaware State
4 Saturday, Sept. 23 at Kansas
5 Saturday, Oct. 7 at TCU
6 Saturday, Oct. 14 vs. Texas Tech
7 Saturday, Oct. 21 at Baylor
8 Saturday, Oct. 28 vs. Oklahoma State
9 Saturday, Nov. 4 vs. Iowa State
10 Saturday, Nov. 11 at Kansas State
11 Saturday, Nov. 18 vs. Texas
12 Saturday, Nov. 25 at Oklahoma
