Through four years of the College Football Playoff, the Pac-12 has missed the playoff two times and only earned two of the 16 bids, tied with the Big 12 for the fewest among all conferences. That number may remain the same through five years of the playoff.
Entering Week 4 of the 2018 season, one-third of Pac-12 teams have been officially eliminated from the playoff, the highest portion of any Power Five conference. And while the elimination of teams like UCLA and Oregon State don't seem like a big deal, it's one piece of a playoff puzzle that's not fitting correctly for the Pac-12.
