The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, aka THON, is the largest student-run philanthropic organization in the world, raising funds and awareness to fight pediatric cancer for over 40 years.

The year-long "For the Kids" (or "FTK") fundraising efforts culminate with one of the most unique events on the globe, a 46-hour no-sitting dance marathon at the Bryce Jordan Center, where they put an exclamation point on a multimillion-dollar annual campaign. Last year, $13 million was raised, 96 percent of which went directly to pediatric cancer support and research at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.
Though THON is important and unique for everyone involved, not just Penn State students, faculty, alums and other stakeholders, it's particularly special for those who did attended the school or have strong ties, including Jesse James.
James hails from McKeesport, Pa., played for the Nittany Lions and was drafted by his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers. And he'll honor THON with special cleats during the NFL's 'My Cause My Cleats' campaign in Week 13.
