P.J. Fleck takes his Easter egg hunts very seriously.
The first-year Minnesota head coach has already instituted tons of new programs, sayings and traditions since arriving in Minneapolis in January. And his latest creation might be the best thus far.
On Wednesday, three days before the spring game, Fleck held the first-ever Elite Egg Extravaganza in which he and his staff hid 1,000 eggs around the facility. After the hunt, they directed the players to the meeting room, where each seat had an egg taped under it. Inside each egg was a piece of paper that said walk-on junior linebacker Blake Cashman was being awarded a full ride scholarship.

It was so special,” said Cashman, who hails bnearby Eden Prairie and had 9.5 tackles for loss in their final five games last year. “It was something I’ll never forget. I just remember I opened up my egg, and the love I felt for my teammates — I was overwhelmed with emotion and joy at that moment.”
