Iowa, Kentucky, LSU and Washington State are among the 14 FBS teams still alive for the College Football Playoff entering Week 9.
Six teams were eliminated with Week 8 losses, including two teams from both the ACC and Pac-12, which left both conferences with only one playoff contender: Clemson and Washington State.
The SEC still has the most contenders (five), followed by the Big 12 and Big Ten (three apiece). Notre Dame is, obviously, the lone Independent still standing.
