The 2017 NFL Draft is coming at us quickly. The yearly extravaganza will take place in Philadelphia from Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, April 29 this year. Over the span of three days, a whole host of former college football stars will be finding a new home where they will hopefully impress during the offseason and be able to make a living by playing on Sundays.

Between now and the end of April we will be featuring some of the stars of tomorrow. Many of these are names from big time college football programs you will recognize, while some will be new to all but the most dedicated followers of the sport.
Today we look at Dalvin Cook, the running back out of Florida State who terrorized Atlantic Coast Conference defenders in 2016 and who might be the best-rounded skill position player in the entire draft class.
Cook is a tried and tested running back who does everything well. This highlight video was from his junior season last fall when he rushed for a career-high 1,765 yards and 19 touchdowns. This resulted in a college career that totaled 4,464 yards and 46 touchdowns while averaging an impressive 6.5 yards per attempt.

Cook really shines through with his versatility. He is already an NFL level pass-catcher out of the backfield and he had over 900 yards receiving (and two touchdowns) last year as a Seminole. He is stunningly explosive and in the open field and he is a nightmare to try to bring down. Given that NFL teams are always looking for running backs that can do more than just smash the ball straight forward, Cook is a lock to go in the first round to one of many running back deficient NFL squads.
