Between now and the end of April, we will feature some of the NFL stars of tomorrow. Many of these are names from big time college football programs you will recognize, while some will be new to all but the most dedicated followers of the sport.
Today we look at a player who is no sure thing in the NFL Draft because Jake Butt tore his ACL in his final game at Michigan. Prior to that though this Big Ten tight end proved that he belonged among the elite at his position in the FBS.
This is a second kind of draft video that we will be featuring here on Hero Sports. This goes away from the straight highlights approach of the other series of videos and instead breaks down the prospects and looks at their pro chances while incorporating game footage. Butt is a good player to start this series with as he is a guy what can be a high level contributor in the NFL, but only if he recovers fully from that devastating knee injury in his final college game.
In this video Butt is compared to a current Dallas Cowboys tight end because of his ability to always be open no matter what the defense is doing. As the tight end is supposed to be the safety valve spot for a quarterback, this is a trait that will serve Butt well at the next level.
