The 2017 NFL Draft is coming at us quickly. The yearly extravaganza will take place in Philadelphia from Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, April 29 this year.

Over the span of three days, a whole host of former college football stars will find new homes where they will hopefully impress during the offseason and make a living playing on Sundays.

Between now and the end of April, we will feature some of the NFL stars of tomorrow. Many of these are names from big time college football programs you will recognize, while some will be new to all but the most dedicated followers of the sport.

Today we are taking a look at the guy expected to be the first true cornerback off of the board. Marshon Lattimore was so good in the Big Ten at Ohio State that "Lattimore Island" became a thing by the end of his career in Columbus. Now the question is if he has the ability to make that switch to the pros.

The cornerback crop this year is talented and diverse. Depending on which scouts you ask there will be as many as 15 names thrown at you as potential picks in the first two rounds of the draft. At this moment (before the combine) it appears that Lattimore has worked his way to the head of that pack thanks to his skills when the ball is in the air and his pure speed.

You can see both those traits in this video, with Lattimore's speed, in particular, being showcased. There are some concerns about the style he was asked to play as a Buckeye, but the old saying that you can't teach speed rings true here and as a result, Lattimore is a high-end prospect who could easily be chosen in the first five or so picks of the draft.
