Ranking Big 12 Teams by Active NFL Players’ Career Earnings

Ranking Big 12 Teams by Active NFL Players’ Career Earnings

Former Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, entering his 10th NFL season, has career NFL earnings of $110.1 million. That's more than the combined earnings of active NFL players from three different Big 12 teams: Kansas State, Texas Tech and Baylor.

McCoy is the biggest piece in a nearly half-billion-dollar pie of career earnings for 38 active Sooners. The program's earning total of $477,917,947 ranks eighth among all FBS programs but first in the Big 12, according to Spotrac.

By an enormous margin.

No other Big 12 team is above $200 million. In fact, you could remove Oklahoma's top three earners — Gerald McCoy, Adrian Peterson ($99.2 million) and Trent Williams ($95.2 million) — and they'd still sit atop the Big 12.

By an enormous margin.

Here's the full list:

Team Total Active Players Highest Player
Oklahoma $477,971,947 38 Gerald McCoy ($110.1 million)
Oklahoma State $199,610,279 28 Russell Okung ($82.5 million)
TCU $195,592,883 23 Andy Dalton ($67.3 million)
Texas $167,730,675 34 Earl Thomas ($55.9 million)
West Virginia $136,024,286 25 Bruce Irvin ($38.1 million)
Kansas $117,863,412 11 Aqib Talib ($63.9 million)
Iowa State $92,371,536 10 Kelechi Osemele ($41.1 million)
Kansas State $79,292,344 15 Darren Sproles ($43.3 million)
Texas Tech $63,584,063 17 Danny Amendola ($26.8 million)
Baylor $63,422,581 16 Robert Griffin III ($29.2 million)
