Mississippi State's dominant win over LSU gets them from unranked to No. 17 overall in the AP Top 25. Clemson leaps Oklahoma for the No. 2 spot and earned 15 votes for No. 1 after Alabama looked so-so for the second straight week versus JV opponents.

The Pac-12 boasts five schools in the Top 25 despite Stanford falling out of the rankings after losing to now-No. 22 San Diego State and UCLA's loss at Memphis. Oregon and Utah, both unbeaten, entered the rankings.

Kansas State's loss at Vanderbilt pushed them put of the Top 25, too. Tennessee also fell from the rankings thanks to their Hail-Mary loss to Florida.

Clemson is also No. 2 in the Coaches Poll where there are very few significant differences to the AP Top 25. Due to their loss to Mississippi State, LSU fell to No. 25 in the AP, No. 23 in the Coaches Poll.

After the Bulldogs and the three other newcomers to the polls, the biggest jump was taken by TCU, up four spots in the AP, five in the Coaches. South Florida and Washington State moved up four spots in the Coaches Poll, Florida moved up four spots in the AP, three in the Coaches.

Oklahoma State went from No. 9 to No. 6 in the AP Poll with their 59-21 win over Pittsburgh, jumping over Washington and Michigan.
