FCS RECRUITING: Ivy League Rankings

HERO Sports will take you conference-by-conference with FCS recruiting, and let you know who has the class to be coveted.

Today we rank the Ivy League

Today's ranking (below) takes into account only high school recruits who have committed to FCS schools  (NOTE: JUCOs and other transfers will be evaluated later this spring). Further updates will continue through national signing day. How do we rank? We pay more attention to the scholarship offers an athlete received than any kind of star rating from a recruiting service. If an FCS recruit holds 17 offers and 6 are of the FBS variety? That will rank him above a recruit who holds three — we let the colleges do the evaluations of film, they're the ones who get paid well to do that. Full final rankings will be released for teams and prospects on Monday, Feb. 11 at 12 p.m. ET[divider]

RECRUITING SCHEDULE: Conf. by Conf. – And The Grand Finale[divider]

BMAC'S IVY LEAGUE TAKE:

RK FCS SCHOOL CONF.
1 Harvard IVY
2 Yale IVY
3 Princeton IVY
4 Pennsylvania IVY

The Ivy League has a plethora of commitments that Power Five Conference teams have salivated over, but the allure of an Ivy League education has won out. The talent level is very high, and when you take the top half of the league into account, it's clearly the best in the FCS.

THE WINNER?: This is a true recruiting dogfight, with Harvard, Yale and Princeton forming somewhat of a first tier, and Penn and Dartmouth not being too far behind. But the leader? It is clearly Harvard. The Crimson are just flat out crushing the field right now and their class should actually be ranked higher than most FBS Group of Five programs because honestly? It's better. The Ivy League obviously handles recruiting a tad different than most FCS schools, but the talent it is attracting is amazing.

THE UPSTARTS?: We'll go with Penn here. The Quakers have been solid on the field, going 6-4 the past two seasons. And this year's class has the potential to help bump Penn up a notch or two in coming years. It's a nice group.

HOTTEST IN JANUARY?: Princeton's been red-hot in January and has certainly moved up the ranks a good bit.[divider]
