SEC Recruiting: Who Won the Week? June 26-July 2

If you're a fan of SEC football, there's a good chance you're a follower of SEC recruiting … and in recruiting, news never sleeps. It is a 365-day a year battle for supremacy, with key battles won and lost as early as May, as much as they are in February and during fall visits.

Today, we look at the past week — Monday, June 26 through Sunday night, July 2. With summer camps and combines, as well as on-campus unofficial visits, things can get busy in SEC recruiting.

This week alone we saw class of 2018 and even 2019 prospects commit to SEC schools.

HERO Sports will give you an idea of who won the past week each week, using the 247Sports.com composite ranking — which averages all services.

WHICH SEC TEAM WON THE WEEK?

GEORGIA

georgia-logoTHE SKINNY: What is it with Georgia and running backs? This week's ranking has a little bit of "ditto" in it because we're repeating with Georgia. The Bulldogs landed 5-star running back Zamir White (see Tweet below) and he's rated the No. 6 overall prospect in the country by the 247Sports.com composite. He's already rushed for 5,000 yards in his prep career, with one to go, along with 85 touchdowns. Seems like this happens every year, doesn't it?

WHO IS NEXT?: Alabama with the pick up of IMG Academy defensive tackle Stephon Wynn. Not too shabby.

WHO LANDED THE TOP PROSPECT?

GEORGIA – RB Zamir White (2018)

georgia-logoTHE SKINNY: Sorry, we know it's redundant, but Georgia had the best week along with the best individual pickup. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound White is out of Laurinburg, North Carolina, so one can imagine there are some college coaches in the Carolinas right now that are kicking themselves.
