Snoop Dogg’s Son Quit Football: The Real Reason

“Snoop Dogg’s Son Quits Football” was one of the bigger headlines this offseason. As you might remember earlier this fall, Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus unexpectedly failed to show up to fall camp at UCLA. There was a ton of speculation as to why the 4-star recruit out of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas suddenly left the program.

We finally have the answer from Cordell himself via Instagram.

I played football for my father because I thought that was the only way he would love me & be apart of my life. It took me 12 years to realize he loves Cordell Broadus the person not Cordell Broadus the football player. The best day of my life was when I heard those exact words; I love you dad hope you have a great birthday

According to Dan Lyons, Cordell remains at UCLA as a student and is working towards his degree.
