There is a new link on the BR-7 Stanford athletics website this week — onethat will take you directly to WildCaff, a webpage designed specifically to rally fans around the idea of running back Christian McCaffrey winning the Heisman Trophy. The site is sleek and simple, which puts all of the spotlight on McCaffrey’s stats, highlights, and his race to beat Barry Sanders for the most all-purpose yards in a season.
For someone who makes such an impact each week for his offense, McCaffrey has flown under the radar this season, hiding in the shadows of the premier SEC running backs in Leonard Fournette and Derrick Henry. He is nonetheless in Heisman contention, and if Stanford can find a way to win out and earn a playoff spot, McCaffrey has a legit chance of receiving a hefty amount of Heisman votes. His numbers are impressive; he just needs to prove he can do the same on a big stage against a good defense.
And he’s the only candidate with his own university-affiliated Heisman campaign website, so that can’t hurt his cause either. Check it out here.
