Welcome back our favorite series here at HERO Sports: The Best Sport You've Never Heard Of. This is a special edition of TBSYNHo (acronym needs work), because you've definitely heard of tag. You've just never seen tag played like this.
The rules of World Team Chase are a little different from the tag you grew up with, so check out the explanation below:
The video at the top of this post features highlights from the World Chase Tag Championships in Trinity Buoy Wharf, London, UK in December of 2016. It was a tournament-style competition featuring four teams.
The final round saw team Merraro Gang face team Fade in a three-set match with ten chases in each set. From the YouTube description: "The first set saw Fade take first blood, but Marrero Gang came back to win the set 2-1. The second set ended in a nervous 0-0 draw and in the tie-break Merraro Gang claimed victory in the second chase to win the match 2 sets to 0."
