Legendary Eastern Kentucky coach Roy Kidd (1964-2002) is the one who laid the groundwork for the coaches who have come–and won–after him. Kidd won 315 games and 16 Ohio Valley Conference titles, and he set the bar high. In fact this year head coach Dean Hood was let go after a 6-5 campaign. The program rattled off 31 consecutive winning seasons from 1977-2008, and none of that even factors into their status as the best in the state of Kentucky.
