Shawn Liotta and the Erie Explosion were asked to play football on ice. Liotta, then-head coach of the indoor football team in the Continental Indoor Football League, was literally asked to play a game on ice. Half ice, half turf.
Liotta refused that offer from the Detroit Thunder in 2014, chalking it up to the wild, weird and wacky of indoor football. This week on the High Motor podcast, Liotta told stories from his nine-year career in indoor football, which included urine in pizza boxes, their bus driver "killing beers" during pregame warmups, and stolen guns left behind in a hotel room.
