The Program
Western Kentucky football has been a breeding ground for successful coaches either on the rebound or up and coming since Jack Harbough retired in 2002. The famous dad to both Jim and John, Harbaugh led the HIlltoppers to two conference titles during his 14 years, including an FCS national championship in 2002. Since then, Western Kentucky has been the layover for current Florida State head coach Willie Taggart, current Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino and current Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm. Under Brohm, the Hilltoppers won back-to-back Conference USA championships in '15 and '16, losing one game in conference. They also are engaged in what many would consider the best named rivalry, "100 Miles of Hate" with Middle Tennessee.

The City
Gearheads will line up in droves for a chance to visit the birthplace of the Corvette. A museum is there to commemorate a historic moment in automobile history. Not to be outdone, Bowling Green is one of the best places to get your disc golf on. One of the best disc golf architects in the world, H.B. Clark, has built six different courses in Bowling Green, including one on Western Kentucky's campus. If you need to step away from the machismo of cars and disc golf, there's arts and culture too. There's the 800-seat Capitol Arts Center or 1,800-seat Southern Kentucky Arts Center.

The Good
Duncan Hines is an actual person who was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky. While there are plenty of sweet treats to gobble up these days, Duncan Hines continues to be a brand that delivers the goods. Thanks, Bowling Green.

The Bad
The Bowling Green Massacre was a horrific event made up event that this current administration used to try and sell a travel and immigration ban. While the legality of the ban still plays out in court, we are happy to say there was no one massacred in Bowling Green. So maybe that's a good.

Bottom Line
Bowling Green was recently featured by National Geographic as one of the "Top-10 All-American Cities". Unfortunately, Conference USA doesn't really usher in the best talent and the Hilltoppers struggled last year with new head coach Mike Samford, Jr. Should the football get straightened out, this could easily be a Top 50 College Football Town.
