HERO Sports is counting down the 100 days until the kickoff of the 2018 college football season on Saturday, Aug. 25, with daily trivia. Each day, from May 17 through Aug. 24, we'll publish one college football trivia question.
The Sun Belt Conference has been sliced and diced repeatedly since its founding with six members — half of its current membership, 10 of which currently play football — in 1976
There are two current Sun Belt members who were original members. However, one of those members left the conference and returned, therefore there is only one original Sun Belt member who has remained in the conference since 1976.
Who's the only remaining original member of the Sun Belt Conference?

Answer
South Alabama
The other five original members were Charlotte, Georgia State, Jacksonville, New Orleans and South Florida. Georgia State left in 1981 and returned in 2013, the year their football program became a full FBS member.
As others have cycled in and out (e.g. Louisiana Tech, UAB, UCF), South Alabama has remained in the conference for all 42 years of its existence.
