Stop us if you've heard this one before: Alabama is the favorite to win it all. This proclamation is about as surprising as the sun rising every morning, but just how big a favorite is the Crimson Tide now that the updated national championship odds are out?
Nick Saban's crew enter their week 5 non-conference contest against Louisiana-Lafayette as -125 favorites to win the title. That's roughly the same as what the oddsmakers predicted this summer.
What about the team Alabama faced in the January 2016 and 2017 title games?
Clemson is still holding steady at 4-1 odds despite the news this week that demoted QB Kelly Bryant would be transferring after starting the past 18 games for the Tigers. Usually, the loss of such an experienced signal caller would be devastating for a squad's national title hopes, but the oddsmakers still like Clemson's chances due in part to the team's upcoming conference slate.

The only other ACC team we currently have ranked in our top 25 are the Blue Devils of Duke, and the two teams don't square off until November 17. It is entirely conceivable that last year's conference champs will face only unranked foes for the remainder of 2018.
The biggest surprise on this list has to be Kentucky (150-1) whose back-to-back upsets over Florida and Mississippi State catapulted the Wildcats to 4-0 as it prepares to face South Carolina on Saturday.
And your longest of long shots to win it all entering week 5? That would belong to Colorado and the Dukies at 200-1.
