The biggest Thursday night game this week is the Pac-12 clash that sees Utah travel to Tempe to take on Arizona State at Sun Devil Stadium. The 7-2 Utes are ranked 15th in the country, while the 5-4 Sun Devils will be trying to protect their home field on Senior Night.
This Pac-12 Network video does an awesome job of setting up the game with analyst Yogi Roth mentioning that a Rose Bowl berth is still potentially on the table for the winner of this game. The Pac-12 North has become a two-horse race between Washington and Washington State (who are both 6-0 in conference play), while the Pac-12 South is still much more open. Colorado is still the favorite to make the Pac-12 Championship Game in Santa Clara, California, as they are 5-1 in league play. The Buffs are being closely trailed however by a couple of two-loss conference teams in USC (5-2) and Utah (4-2). Arizona State is looking to play spoiler here with their 2-4 conference mark.

That is not to say that the Sun Devils have nothing to play for here. At 5-4 on the season, Arizona State is still very much in the mix for postseason play. With bowl berths being assigned based on a team's record, it is important that the Sun Devils continue to pick up wins to stay ahead of the teams behind them (specifically California) and perhaps run down a team like Stanford.
This game could be a closer one than expected as the buzz of Senior Night, plus the fact that ASU had a bye week that allowed its 10 injured starters to get healthy, could all make this something of a trap game for Utah.
