Chris Klieman made the FCS-to-Power Five jump last year, accepting the Kansas State job after winning four national championships in five seasons at North Dakota State. Might another FCS head coach make the Power Five leap this year if Vanderbilt fires Derek Mason?
Mason fell to 25-43 in five-plus seasons as Vandy head coach with a blowout loss to lowly UNLV. While he did bring some stability after James Franklin's departure, Mason is still just 9-34 in the SEC and is on pace for a third season with four or fewer wins.
