LSU is one of two teams in the SEC West (Auburn) that has the potential to run down and beat Alabama for the division title if things go their way in 2017. The Tigers will need to open up the offensive playbook under head coach Ed Orgeron and they will also need a defense that was hit hard by departures to the NFL to come together quickly (the talent is certainly there).
The Tigers will rely on running back Derrius Guice, a player who rushed for 1,387 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2016 after entering the season as little more than insurance for Leonard Fournette. With Fournette now in the NFL, this strength of the team must be fully utilized for LSU to achieve their goals this fall.
