One of the biggest games, and arguably the biggest game of the college football weekend to come is the clash that sees #9 Oklahoma taking on #14 West Virginia in Morgantown. It is an interesting game that has national implications because of the attrition that has taken place at the top end of the college football world over the last seven days. With the likes of Washington, Clemson, Michigan , and now Louisville all losing, big performances from other schools could see them making up big ground in the race to be one of the four College Football Playoff participants.

One of the conferences that seemed to be out of contention when the College Football Playoff rankings were first announced was the Big 12. The lack of big non-conference wins, plus some bad non-conference losses by the favored teams, meant that the Big 12 schools have had to fight their way back into recognition as the season has progressed. in fairness the CFP still isn't giving the conference all that much love, only Oklahoma is currently in the top 10, but with conference titles meaning so much to the committee either the Sooners or the Mountaineers could be in a very strong position come Sunday morning.
This video does an outstanding job of setting up the game between the two schools, It still feels like WVU was just shoehorned into the conference, so this doesn't have the feel of an Oklahoma/Texas clash. It is though a chance for the Mountaineers to get that marquee win that is missing from their resume if they want to be considered as legitimate and it is a chance for OU to add to their resume and perhaps move up into the top 5 of the CFP rankings if other results go their way.
