Late in the third quarter of the Hilltoppers' eventual loss to FIU, WKU was trailing by 10 points and facing 4th-and-12 from midfield. Pin the Panthers deep in their end, play good defense and get the ball back around midfield early in the fourth quarter, right?
Well, WKU got the ball back — and earlier than expected. However, it was because Collins' fake punt went horribly wrong. Watch as he begins to tentatively run toward the first down before reversing course, which leads to a stumble, fumble and FIU touchdown.
Not sure what went wrong here but @FIUFootball is thankful for that fumble and will gladly take the points. 34-17, Panthers up. #WKUvsFIU pic.twitter.com/F7fkr1FpUF
