College athletes have some of the busiest schedules out of anybody on campus. They have to wake up earlier and stay up later than the average student in order to fulfill all of their athletic and academic obligations. Some say they should work that hard since they get a free education, but what about the walk-ons?
Walk on football players have the same obligations as their scholarships teammates, and they don’t get a dime. They generally have to work as hard as they possibly can day in and day out to maybe get some playing time. The Western Michigan football team noticed one walk-on special teamer, Trevor Sweeney, giving it his all every day in practice, so they decided to reward him with a full ride scholarship in a perfectly clever way.
